A Model Go See

Someday you'll hit it big like Tyra, Naomi, and Heidi; when that day comes you'll have casting directors, photographers, and booking agents begging to feature you in their next big ad campaign. Before that day comes you'll have to put in a lot of dedication and hard work to make a name for yourself in this sometimes ruthless industry. The “go see” is an audition for models and making an impression at your go see could be the difference between being featured in the next issue of Vogue and working at the news-stand selling Vogue.
The most important thing to remember when heading to a go see is that first impressions are everything; a casting director or photographer will form that vital first impression of you in five to ten seconds. To avoid being instantly dismissed in the mind of the casting director remember these few simple tips. First study the product or the company that you are auditioning for, look at old ad campaigns and surf the company's website. When you're getting dressed for your go see try to tailor your look to the general style of the company, this way the casting director will better be able to see you filling a role in one of their ads. Also remember not to wear too much makeup, an overly made up face will turn off most, if not all, casting directors.
Creating a lasting impression is just as important as creating a positive first impression. Remember to be confident, professional, and knowledgeable during your go see. Remember to research the company you're auditioning to work for just in case they ask you any questions about the company or product. The casting director remembers prospective candidates using Polaroids, remember to treat this quick Polaroid shoot like it's the real deal, this will ensure that your photo will get a second look.
Bear in mind that the modeling industry can be very difficult to break into. You must prepare yourself for a lot of rejection before you catch your big break. Keep these go see tips in mind and you'll have a job before you know it.
