How To Work On Your Crossover Walk?

You might have seen models doing a crossover walk on a ramp, easily walking as if there is no hurdle in their way. This isn’t true; runaway modeling is very difficult, especially when it comes to the crossover walk. You need many things when you want to become a runaway model.
CONFIDENCE
The first thing you need being a model is confidence. There are always huge lights focused on you and lots of people around to judge you and the outfit you are wearing so better be confident and make your way!! If you have confidence, you can achieve anything you want.
LEGS
When you are doing a crossover walk, you need to put one leg in front of the other while walking. This may not be as easy as it seems; your one wrong step can lead you to trip and fall from the ramp into the crowd! You don’t want that happening right? So practice your walk everyday so that the best designers can pick you up for their fashion show.
POSTURE
No one likes a model that is leaning or walking in an absurd manner. The crossover walk is difficult and people tend to bend to one side to maintain their gravity. Since models usually have to walk with high heels on, it becomes increasingly awkward to maintain their posture.
Posture is one thing you have to work on everyday from the very beginning. You should walk with full buoyancy, shoulders straight and should not hunch. Hunching gives a horrible and uneasy look.
ARMS
Most people tend to swing their hands a lot when they walk; without even realizing this habit gets so persistent that it becomes one of the hardest to overcome.
During runaway modeling, your arms should not swing at all. Whatever movement your body makes, you should only move your arms. You should also keep your upper arm close to your body so that only the bottom half swings.
EYES
Eyes should be focused straight; you should not give sideway glances or tilt your eyes from one direction to another. They should be focused on anything in the background so that you keep on moving straight.
Do not try focusing on the bright lights aimed at you or else everything will go black and you will fall right off the ramp and into the crowd. It will not only create an embarrassing situation but can be a career downfall as well!
Overall, the crossover walk is very tricky and requires a lot of practice, patience, concentration and hard work. Once you know how to do it, you are a perfect model!
