You probably never envisioned it. Even if you did, it can still be a tad bit intimidating. The world of nude modeling is not necessarily something that most models are fully prepared for. Though there are some perfectly tasteful reasons as to why somebody would engage in nude modeling, it still gets a very unusual reaction. You may be asked to model nude for a particular shoot. You may be the subject in an art class. You may be a part of some sort of campaign where nudity is required. There are many reasons as to why nude modeling may come your way throughout your modeling career. The point is that you have to be ready for it. Is it something that you are willing to do? Is it something that you will feel comfortable with? You have to prepare yourself for this instance because when it comes up, you want to know how to act accordingly. Think it through and it can be of great help when the time comes.

Always Act Professional
Though you are surely always a professional as a model, there’s something about nude modeling that can bring out the giddiness in anybody. So be prepared for that, though you may think that you always have it all pulled together. Being naked isn’t normally something that comes naturally in front of others. Be prepared that you may have an unusual reaction and by all means, always be a professional. Ignore your instinct to laugh and treat this like any other job. Be sure that you put yourself in the right mindset so that you are prepared for anything they may throw your way. It can really pay off! Even if you think that you are one of those models that can handle anything, just know that nude modeling is different than other types.

Be Sure You Are Comfortable With It
Above any other rule within modeling, be absolutely sure that you are comfortable with nude modeling. If you feel for a second like you don’t like what’s happening or feel questionable about the shoot itself, then put a stop to it. Don’t be a diva about it, but only go with what you feel comfortable with. If the nature of the job seems unusual or you just don’t like how it’s making you feel, then go with your gut. Nude modeling isn’t for everybody, and you need to be honest with yourself so that you don’t do something that you’re going to look back on unfavorably.

Practice Your Poses
As nude modeling is in fact so very different, be sure that you practice before the real deal. Practice taking your clothes off, and if you feel comfortable do so in front of a friend or family member so that you can get used to there being somebody else there. Practice your poses so that you feel comfortable within your own skin during what could be an unusual shoot for you. Nude modeling can be a very liberating activity, but you need to be fully prepared for it.
