There are a lot of pretty faces out there. There are also a lot of those pretty faces that have considered entering into the world of modeling. Though good looks and an attractive physique is a big part of being successful in modeling, there's also much more to it. You need to be sure that you enter into a reputable opportunity and that it will sustain your long term interests. Modeling can be a wonderful and very lucrative career path, but you need to be sure that you go for the representation that makes sense for you. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Unfortunately along with the growing world of modeling have come along a growing number of scams and reps that aren't exactly what they seem. Keep your eyes open and you're sure to find the right representation and therefore get the best opportunities for you.

Interview the Agent Just As Much As They Are Interviewing You
When you go on that first interview or meeting with your potential agent, be sure to ask questions from your end as well. If you think that the first meeting is all about them liking you, then you're not considering the other important half of the equation. Take the time to ask plenty of questions, understand their history and the manner in which they work. This is a big decision for you just as much as it is for them, so be sure that all of your questions are answered satisfactorily. This isn't a time to take anything for granted or assume that they are on the up and up.

Go With Your Instincts
If you have a bad feeling about a potential representative, then by all means trust your instincts. There's a reason that you are feeling this and there's often something significant behind it. If an opportunity seems too good to be true, or alternatively if an individual seems to be asking for too much money or anything else up front, then walk away. A big part of modeling is ensuring that you have the right representation, and if you feel uneasy from the beginning then trust your instinct and know that it's probably coming from a legitimate feeling.

Be Sure That They Can Get You to the Right Opportunities
A good agent should be able to tell you from the very start what opportunities you would do well within. They should be able to outline how you get there and what it takes to be successful. You are relying on this individual or company to get you modeling gigs and you want to be sure that you will be qualified for the right opportunities. Once you have found a rep that you trust, be sure that they not only have your best interests at heart but that they can outline the path to get you to where you want to be. This is an important thing to remember so that you can be successful within the world of modeling.
