They say that the "super thin" look is out for models. While that may be true, that doesn't mean that all intentions of staying fit and trim are out. Sure there are a fair share of models out there that have no shape to them, and look as though they are wasting away. However for most modeling jobs, there is the necessity to be in shape. To get the best modeling jobs or to stay competitive as a model at all, you need to ensure that you are in the best possible shape that you can be. Being fit and trim is often part of the job description as a model. So how can you ensure that you get fit, stay fit, and keep the modeling jobs rolling in?

Make Fitness a Part of Your Job Requirement
If you don't already regularly work out, then find a way to incorporate it into your life. This isn't just important for good health, but essential if you wish to stay competitive as a model. Don't believe it? See what happens if you aren't in your best shape and you go to audition for a modeling job. Chances are that you won't get it! So if you have any hope of being a model as your full time job or wish to stay competitive, begin to view working out as a regular part of your job requirement. If possible, find a way to enjoy it as it's something that you're going to have to keep up with for a long time to come.

Enlist Help When Necessary
If you're not accomplishing your fitness goals by working out on your own, then call in some help. Personal trainers, nutritionists, and others are in the field for a reason—and they can offer up some tremendous help. There is no shame in hiring experts to help you to achieve the best possible fitness level that you can. As a matter of fact, that's what many top models have to do to get in the best shape and stay there. So consider bringing in an arsenal of experts if you need a little extra help. They may be what helps to give you that extra push when you need it.

Take Constructive Criticism As Potential Help
Though not everybody in the industry is looking out for your best interest, some actually are. Consider the source and know that much of the constructive criticism that you hear can be what helps you in the long run. It may not always come to you in the nicest form, and as a matter of fact sometimes it may even sting a bit. However if you can find a way to take in the criticism and recognize that it's for your own good and may be what makes the difference in your career, then you are sure to get ahead. This may be challenging to get used to at first, but every model ahs to go through it. To get fit may mean to deal with a bit of pain, both physical and mental, in the process.
